Penguin is an awesome show btw

Saw first episode and seems rly good. Probably the next big crime show.

Was sick of super hero shit like 10 years ago. Way too dominant media format. It replaced most types of action movies.

It's kind of like Joker in that it is set in a superhero setting, but it doesn't seem to play a big role. It's a mafia drama.

Yea, but maybe they could've just made it a mafia show? Would've probably watched to HNNNNG at Cristin Milioti if it was a new idea like a Sopranos. It's like everything being made has to be rehash of some established franchise.

maybe awesome show on its own merit but as a comic fan i would walk into it with expectations of DC lore

just like i hated both joker movies (not that they were bad in of themselves)

It's probably going to tie in some elements of the Penguin's story. Penguin is a cool character too, and setting it in superhero setting allows for maybe some cool nonrealistic stuff. I was just really impressed with the directing and acting. It felt like movie quality. Very slick.

Well this is a gritty take on it, but I'm not sure it conflicts with the lore so much as enhances it. It's set in the new recent reimagined Batman movie. The one that was like 3 hr long. It's set in that universe.
