I honestly thought any replacement forum would have like 10 users and fizzle out quickly, but I’m pleasantly surprised. Most of us found this place and the traffic is a solid 60% of what the misc had in its final days. Not bad not brad. Let’s keep it going.

I actually have the opposite concern. I figure people will be motivated initially to keep posting since bb.com kind of swept the rug out from under us.

I'm more concerned that as posters drop off no one will replace the ones who decide to leave and this place will eventually become a ghost town. I'll be curious to see how this place is doing in 6 months then again in 1 year.

That's the reason why people (myself included) are bringing up the idea of swapping to vbulletin, getting a good domain going and trying to keep the momentum up. Getting some original content going, create hype and pilfering users from places like X/Reddit. This is not knocking mathbrah either, he should get an honorary title on whatever forum we settle on. I vote for Retard Sheppard.

Thank god we had 3 weeks to get word out before they pulled the plug. Between this, Fires and Reddit, most people will figure it out quick. Misc lives on. What a f*cking relief.

It's certainly going to be an uphill battle. Given that the Misc was steadily bleeding users as it was, a Misc reboot with even fewer users to start with is entirely doomed without aggressive recruitment early on. As we all know, recruiting new users to anything is difficult, but recruiting users to an already dying platform like a forum? It's not impossible but good luck. The forum itself would have to actually modern, active, and well-moderated enough to pull people away from other platforms. Whether we'll even get to that point before we bleed out ourselves is anyone's guess, but the clock is already ticking.
