Fuarrrrk I miss these days. TFW no commute, no bullchit to do around the house after work because you get it done on the clock, saving money on gas, car maintenance, etc. I used to sleep every lunch break and get paid to work out with my home weights, then go to the actual gym to lift heavy as soon as I got off. My old apartment had a balcony too so I would just be chilling outside with my laptop on a table so I could jiggle the mouse every couple minutes, but I’d really be on my phone watching movies in the fresh air. There will never be another era like the COVID era.

It's the GOAT. If your job was previously WFH, why can't it be WFH again in the future? Ever consider trying to find another company that has a better WFH policy? Jealous of the balcony btw, I'd be doing that too.

As someone who works in cyber sec for a big company, yeah it does happen tbh. Keylogging, screen recording, phone call recording, all exists. And I've seen escalations that were geared towards "is this guy actually working? can you assist to find evidence of their lack of activity?" And there's logs we have that help with that. But TBH it's usually the customer facing / call center workers who are escalated for investigation. Sometimes other departments too but it's rare.
