Amazon is an interesting one, because more work from home would be overall good for their business. They deliver stuff. People not leaving their house is good for Amazon. They also have a streaming service, which again is more valuable when people stay home.

I get local politicians wanting to force people back to work because it will get people spending money on sandwich shops and local businesses, etc.
I get the big banks wanting to get rid of work from home since, like the politicians is spurs a bunch of unnecessary financial activity by forcing people to leave their homes.
I get a car company or energy companies wanting to get rid of work from home because more people driving and buying gas and wasting energy is better for their business.

I really hope people hold the line and keep work form home strong. It's really such a huge quality of life improvement. Nothing is gained in terms of the actual job and employee from being forced back into a cubicle.

Depending on the data being handled by certain jobs, there's government regulations preventing outsourcing foreigners from happening.

There may be loopholes down the road though. IE: let AI hosted on US soil servers handle the regulated data, and let foreigners take the job to handle the other aspects for $3/hr.
