Yes I would have pulled a couple of the guys together to set up a legitimate forum. MM has unfortunately said that he went with the fastest and laziest option because he's not very much interested in actually running a forum, and so this place is inevitably doomed.

we should be grateful for what MM did instead of bitching about it, if someone wants to set up a different forum now they can do it, but thanks to him at least we have a place to be right now

This. I'm pretty sure he said since we didn't know for sure if Misc was going away or how much traffic this place would get he didn't want to start out big. But that if Misc disappeared and this place got a lot of posters then he'd prob change it

Yeah, I gotta agree with this. I mentioned in that final thread that the least they could do was put up a giant banner on the top of the forum home page stating that they would be shut down on XYZ date, but they couldn't even do that.

Yeah I wasn’t trying to complain. He was the first non-alt account to actually pull the trigger on making something, which is why we are here now. I was just providing context.

Being under forummotion is just a massive handicap. They own the database and everything else associated with this forum and do not support migration. There’s no legal option for transferring to your own servers even if you wanted. From here forward, the more you invest in it, the deeper the hole gets.

Started lurking the misc in 2013. Lots of info. Youngs these days stand no chance...

Yeah I still post and lurk on a few other forums, but none were ever as good or impactful as the misc. Even right before all of this with only a small fraction of its userbase it was busier than any other forums of its kind that I'm aware of.

One of the last threads ever on the misc was OliverHeldens asking if any miscers daughters wear thongs. Strong everything. Strong ending.
